Definitions

• "Event" means the Canberra Brick Show.
• "Force Majeure Event" means an event, circumstance, or situation outside our reasonable control (including act of God, natural disaster, fire, flood, pandemic, council or government sanction or order, actions of police or other authorities, act of terrorism, war, or industrial action).
• "Minimum Age" means any minimum age imposed at law for the purchase or use of certain goods and services.
• "Photo ID" means a valid driver's licence, other official Australian identification card, or an Australian or foreign passport.
• "Platforms" means any website, social media page, application, or channel owned or controlled by us.
• "Prohibited Items" include, without limitation: alcohol brought from outside the venue; illicit drugs; knives; weapons; fireworks; explosives; glass; compressed gas containers; open flames; offensive or discriminatory banners, signs or materials; flares; air horns or sound amplifiers; toy guns or water pistols; smoke bombs; drones; pets other than service animals; laser pointers; skateboards, roller blades, scooters or bicycles; or anything that may interfere with the enjoyment, comfort, or safety of others.
• "Ticket" means an entry ticket for the Event.
• "We", "us", "our" means the organisers of the Canberra Brick Show.
• "You", "your" means the person who will use the Ticket for entry to the Event.

Tickets

1. We will grant you entry to the Event upon presentation, for inspection, of a valid Ticket. Anyone without a valid Ticket may be refused entry or ejected without refund.
2. Except where required by law, Tickets are not refundable, are valid only for the specific Event and session for which they were issued, and are valid only if payment has been made in full prior to entry.
3. We may, at our discretion, permit changes to the date/time on your Ticket if you contact us before the stated entry time. We may refuse entry if you're late, without refund.
4. We generally won't refund a Ticket if you change your mind or forget to attend, but may do so at our discretion for a change in personal circumstances. Contact us before your entry time to request this.
5. Tickets must be treated like cash and may be deemed invalid if lost, damaged beyond verification, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or scalping.
6. By purchasing a Ticket, you warrant that you're over 18 and able to enter a binding contract, or that a parent/guardian consents on your behalf if you're under 18. If you're 13 or under, a parent or guardian must purchase your Ticket.
7. Tickets may not be resold at a premium or used for commercial/promotional purposes without our written consent.
8. We may use third parties to process payments; any issues with payment processing should be directed to that third party.

Consent to search

You consent to a search of yourself and/or your possessions, at the time of entry or at other times if requested by Event staff.

Recording & photography

1. Photography is encouraged for private and personal use.
2. Without our permission, the following are prohibited: flash photography of displays where signposted, filming/photography for a commercial purpose, and professional photography equipment (including tripods). We'll determine, at our discretion, what counts as professional equipment.
3. Personal digital cameras and smartphones are permitted.
4. We may confiscate or ask you to delete unauthorised or prohibited recordings, and may eject anyone contravening this clause.
5. By attending, you consent to your likeness, image, and voice appearing in any recordings, CCTV footage, or photographs taken in connection with the Event.

Safety

1. In line with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (ACT), you must take reasonable care of your own health and safety, take reasonable care not to affect the safety of others, and comply with instructions from Event staff (including security and traffic management) and posted signage.
2. You must move around the Event in an orderly fashion and must not hinder the safe passage of others.
3. We don't accept responsibility for the negligent acts or omissions of ticket holders.
4. In the event of injury or illness, we may arrange medical treatment or emergency evacuation at your expense, as we consider necessary for your safety or the safety of others.
5. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. It's the responsibility of the parent or guardian to judge the Event's suitability for their child before booking.

Refusal of entry

We may refuse entry to, or eject, anyone who: fails to comply with these terms; appears unwell or shows symptoms of a contagious illness; touches or damages displays, models, or property; engages in illegal, unsafe, disorderly, or antisocial behaviour (including being intoxicated); enters a non-public or restricted area; or acts in a violent, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory manner, or for any other reason at our discretion.

Prohibited items

We may confiscate any Prohibited Items, or anything we consider may be used unsafely, illegally, or offensively. Confiscated items may not be returned or reimbursed. If you carry medical or mobility equipment that could otherwise be considered a Prohibited Item, please let Event staff know.

Alcohol & drugs

1. Smoking and vaping are only permitted in any designated smoking area, subject to venue rules.
2. Anyone supplying, consuming, or in possession of illicit drugs will be ejected and may be reported to police.
3. Alcohol consumption is only permitted during the designated VIP Night session (see our VIP Night page for current timing) and only alcohol purchased from the Event or an authorised vendor may be consumed in permitted areas. Outside these times, being found consuming or possessing alcohol will result in ejection.
4. During the VIP Night session, you may be asked to provide Photo ID to verify you're the Minimum Age. Anyone found intoxicated will be ejected.
5. Supplying or buying alcohol for anyone under the Minimum Age will result in ejection and may be reported to police.

Attire

Appropriate clothing and closed footwear must be worn at all times. Clothing that poses a safety risk or may cause offence (at our discretion) may result in refusal of entry or ejection.

Signage

You must not display commercial, religious, political, or other signage at the Event without our permission.

Movement around the Event

Please familiarise yourself with the venue layout, including emergency exits. We aim to make the Event accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and prams, but the venue's terrain and structures may make some areas difficult to access. If you have accessibility concerns, please contact us before purchasing a ticket or ahead of your visit.

Environment & facilities

Please be respectful of the venue: use the bins provided and don't damage or tamper with property or facilities. When you leave, please take your belongings and rubbish with you; we're not responsible for property left behind and may dispose of or donate it.

Force majeure

If we can't run the Event, in whole or part, due to a Force Majeure Event, we may, at our discretion, reschedule (holding your Ticket for the new date), relocate (with a possible refund if the new venue is significantly different), or cancel (with a refund, less booking fees, applied for within four weeks of the cancellation announcement). If only part of the Event is affected, we may offer a pro-rata refund where reasonable.

Errors, omissions & disclaimers

We take reasonable care to keep information on our Platforms accurate and current, but make no warranties about its accuracy, currency, or completeness. Opinions expressed on our Platforms don't necessarily reflect our official position. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only and we don't endorse them. We're not responsible for travel, accommodation, food, or other costs you incur in connection with attending, cancelling, or rescheduling the Event. Consider your own insurance if relevant. Any photos used in promotion are illustrative only.

Application of laws

These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of its courts.

Event organisers

This Event is organised by the Canberra LEGO User Group Inc. It is not affiliated with, run, sponsored, or endorsed by the LEGO Group. LEGO and the LEGO logo are trademarks of the LEGO Group. You agree that any personal information you provide to us or our authorised agents may be collected, used, or held by us in accordance with our privacy practices.
